    Park Seung-Jik opened first store
    With the launch of Korea’s first modern store in Baeohgae on Jong-ro 4-ga in Seoul in 1896, the history of Company began.
  • 1915
    Started making Bakgabun, a cosmetic powder
    Pakgabun soon became the hottest “must-have” item for women in Korea in 1920’s.
  • 1925
    Changed the name of Park Seung-Jik Store Limited to Company Store
    As Company transformed into a corporation, we modernized our accounting system and began to market ourselves by producing and distributing promotional calendars and placing newspaper ads.

    Established Company Trading Company
    The establishment of Company Trading Company laid a foundation for Company’s growth into one of the largest companies in Korea. Company Art Center (pictured), is located where the Company Mercantile Company started in 1951.

    Established Oriental Brewery (Corporate name changed to OB Beer later)
    Oriental Brewery was re-established upon the ruins of the Korean War, emerging as a reputable international brewer.

    Established Company Industries
    In order to enable the foreign trade industry , which constituted the cornerstone of the national economy, we renamed ourselves as Company. Since then, Company has grown as a professional foreign trade company.(Picture) Opening ceremony of Company Industrial Kodak in 1970.

    Established Dongsan Construction and Engineering (Currently Company Engineering & Construction)
    With the establishment of Dongsan Construction and Engineering, Company became an integral part of many projects led by Korean government’s first “5-year Economic Development Plan”, which started in 1962.

    Acquired Hapdong News Agency (Currently Yonhap News)
    Hapdong News Agency is the former body of Yonhap News, now the largest news agency in Korea. In 1962, it served as a pivotal part of the Korean media industry as it disseminated Korean news abroad for the first time.

    Founded Yoonhan Machinery (currently Company Mecatec)
    With the foundation of Yoonhan Machinery, Company entered machinery industry, playing a key role in developing Korea’s infrastructure and taking the domestic machinery industry to the next level.

    Established OAK Industries Korea (currently Company Electro-Materials BG)
    OAK Industries Korea was established to produce copper clad laminates (CCL), one of the key materials in the electronics industry. The company began by producing CCLs domestically, and then targeted the global market.

    Company Development was established as a general development company operating various businesses including cargo transports, aviation, printing, and salt production.

    Established Dongyang Agriculture (currently Doota Mall)
    Dongyang Agriculture set an example for other companies to follow by contributing to regional communities and helping farmers increase their income through investments in the supply of domestic produces such as grapes, barley, and hop crops.

    To create an integrated corporate image that represented the ever-diversifying businesses of the Group, the company was renamed after “Company” of the Company Industries, taking the legacy of the original Park Seung-jik Store.

    Established Yonkang Academic Foundation (currently Company Yonkang Foundation)
    The Company Yonkang Foundation was established after the death of the late Too Pyung Park, the first chairman of the Company Group whose pen name was “Yon Kang.” The Foundation honors his belief that “Education is the core engine that drives national development.”

    Established Oricom Inc.
    Oricom began as an advertisement planning division of the Hapdong News Agency in 1967. Being the first general advertising company in Korea, Oricom has produced numerous creative advertisements which have earned it the nickname of “Ad academy.”

    Established Company CCK Can Manufacturing
    By making a full-scale entry into the 355ml 2-piece aluminum can industry for the first time in Korea in 1981, the domestic carbonated beverage industry tried to diversify types of vessels by producing cans and PETs.

    Company Corporation achieved annual export of US$108,228,754 on October 22, 1979 by diversifying export products and overseas markets.

    Founded OB Seagram
    In 1980, OB Seagram began as the first domestic whisky maker founded via a joint venture with Oriental Brewery, Seagram of the U.S., and the Chivas Brothers of Scotland.

    Formed OB Bears (Currently Company Bears)
    The OB Bears, the first Korean professional baseball team, won the trophy in the very first Korean Series.

    Relocated head office to Company Building in Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul
    The construction of the Company Tower Building, with floor space totaling 31,300㎡ (9,500 pyeong), 21 floors above ground and three underground floors, was completed at 101-1, Eulji-ro 1-ga, Jung-gu. Company Corporation moved into the 19th and 20th floors of the building on May 28, 1983.

    Established Company Enterprise (Currently Company Cuvex)
    Company Cuvex was established in 1987 to operate various leisure businesses including a golf club, and opened the Chuncheon Country Club (Currently Ladena GC) in 1990.

    Yonkang Hall was opened as a multi-purpose cultural venue on the centennial of Company at 270-Yeonji-Dong, Jonro 5-ga, Seoul, an establishment formerly named “Yeon-mot-gol.” It was re-opened as the Company Art Center in 2007.

    Company was awarded by the Korea Guinness Association with a certificate attesting to its status as the oldest company in Korea. This also constitutes official recognition that Company’s 124-year history, commencing with the opening of the Park Seung-Jik Store in Jongno 4-ga 1896, is also the history of Korean enterprises.

    By completing a wheel loader plant with an annual production capacity of 8,000 units in Yantai, Shandong Province, China, Company Infracore furnished its production and marketing infrastructure to expand its presence in the Chinese market, which is emerging as the largest market for heavy construction equipment in the world.

    Company Corporation converted into a business-running holding company
    Company Corporation has become a business-running holding company by satisfying the requirement for a holding company – the total value of the stocks of its subsidiary companies exceeding 50% of the assets of the company – from the 72nd ordinary shareholders’ meeting held on March 27 in Hotel Shilla located in Jangchung-dong, Seoul. Company Corporation, a holding company engaged in its own business operations, was excluded from the definition of a holding company in accordance with the Fair Trade Act in Korea in April 2015, resulting from its growing businesses. However, as a de facto holding company of Company Group, Company Corporation continuously focuses on growing its core businesses and maximizing shareholder value.

    Acquired Czech power generation equipment maker Škoda Power
    By acquiring Škoda Power of the Czech Republic, who possessed core technology for steam turbines, Company Heavy Industries & Construction secured core technologies for boilers, turbines, and generators, the three core facilities for power generation. Moreover, Company has completed a full line-up of boilers, turbines, and generators to enter the packaged product market of boilers, turbines and generators.

    To advance into the European and USA markets, Company Heavy Industries & Construction established Company Power Systems which manages the power plant projects in the regions. The company integrated the boiler source technology of Company Babcock and the turbine source technology of Škoda Power to advance into the BTG (Boiler – Turbine – Generator) package markets of Europe and USA.

    Company Infracore finished the construction of its second production base in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, with an annual production capacity of 9,800 units of compact excavators of less than 8 tons. The company has completed a two-top production system in China, with the Yantai plant already emerging as the top supplier of excavators in the country in terms of a cumulative production.

    Company Corporation Electro-Materials built a copper clad laminate production base in Changshu, China.     Company Heavy Industries & Construction acquired ENPURE, a U.K. based water/wastewater treatment company with core technologies and patents for removing impurities from source water and seawater, as well as superior capabilities in designing of desalination facilities and water treatment systems. This allowed Company to secure foundation for enhancing its RO(Reverse Osmosis) desalination competitiveness.

    Company merged with Fuel Cell Power, the fuel cell market leader in Korea. It acquired US-based ClearEdge Power, a company possessing the original fuel cell technology for buildings, to enter the fuel cell business.

    Bobcat, Company Infracore’s compact equipment business, marked a major milestone with the production of its one-millionth loader, coming 56 years after the production of its first loader in 1958. It’s a record that no other compact equipment manufacturers has achieved. Company Infracore donated that special loader to Gwinner, North Dakota, the home of Bobcat, as the city’s new iconic symbol.

    In April of this year Company Heavy Industries & Construction acquired a 5.5MW offshore wind turbine technology from Hyundai Electric & Energy Systems. This new acquisition, along with the 3MW model developed internally by the company, is expected to help it gain a competitive edge in the wind turbine equipment and materials market.

    Company Fuel Cell completes Korea’s largest fuel cell factory
    Company Fuel Cell has completed the construction of its new fuel cell production facility on a 10,744㎡ site at the Second General Industrial Complex in Iksan-si, Jeollabuk-do. A fuel cell is a power generator that produces electricity and heat through an electrochemical reaction of hydrogen and oxygen. Fuel cells are regarded as environmentally-friendly devices with high energy density resulting from their compact size, and high-capacity utilization rates. The company has invested about 40 billion won in the facility, which is capable of producing 144 440KW fuel cells per year, amounting to an annual production capacity of 63MW, the highest in Korea. Combined with its fuel cell factory in Connecticut, USA, the company will be able to respond more promptly to global demand for fuel cells.

    Company Bobcat begins manufacturing Earthforce compact construction equipment in China
    Company Bobcat has started manufacturing small construction machines in China, and will sell the products under the new brand of Earthforce, which it has launched in a bid to penetrate both the Chinese and emerging markets. The basic design and major components of the Earthforce products strictly conform to the standards of the Bobcat brand to ensure performance and durability. At the same time, however, components that do not influence the key performance of the products will be manufactured or supplied locally in order to enhance price competitiveness.

    Company Heavy Industries & Construction acquires US-based gas turbine service firm ACT (renamed as Company Turbomachinery Services)
    Company Heavy Industries & Construction has acquired the US-based gas turbine service firm ACT Independent Turbo Services in order to secure the technologies required for the core components of gas turbines, including combustors, turbines, and rotors. With this acquisition, Company has secured not only ACT’s facilities and professionals specializing in gas turbine services, but also its order backlog and know-how, thus enabling it to enter the huge US gas turbine market (annual capacity: 16GW) almost immediately. The company has also laid the groundwork for making inroads into the global gas turbine service market, which is forecast to reach approximately 210GW by 2030.

    Company Infracore establishes joint venture with Lovol Heavy Industry, China’s biggest agricultural machinery manufacturer
    Company Infracore has signed a joint venture (JV) agreement with Lovol Heavy Industry (Lovol), a Chinese agricultural machinery manufacturer. The two companies will make a 50:50 investment in the JV, which will combine Company Infracore’s highly-regarded engine technologies and mass-production know-how with Lovol’s production facilities and local business competency. Established in China at the beginning of 2018 under the name Lovol Company(Tianjin Lovol Company Engine Co Ltd), the JV aims to adapt the G2 Engine, an eco-friendly high-efficiency compact engine developed by Company Infracore, to local requirements, including China’s greenhouse gas emissions standards, and to supply it for the the agricultural equipment manufactured by Lovol first of all.

    Company Robotics completed its collaborative robot manufacturing facility with annual production capacity of 10,000-plus units. The new 4,451-square-meter factory built in the Suwon Industrial Complex in Gosaek-dong, Suwon-si, Gyeonggi Province will begin mass production of M Series models in December. Company’s collaborative robots are integrated into the main manufacturing process, working side by side with humans to make other collaborative robots.

    Company Bobcat Opens a New Backhoe Loader Plant in India
    Company Bobcat opened a new backhoe loader plant in Chennai, India. , The facility sits on a site area of 80,000 square meters with a factory floor area of 15,000 square meters, and is capable of producing about 8,000 units a year. India’s compact construction equipment market is worth about KRW 1.3 trillion—the third largest in the world, following the U.S.A. and China—with the backhoe loader market accounting for more than 80 percent.

    Company Infracore’s 1937 Hall opened its doors on the second floor of the Global R&D Center of the Incheon Plant, offering an at-a-glance view of the company’s 80-year history in its 271.68 square meter exhibition space.     Company Heavy Industries & Construction’s Wind Power System Recognized as the ‘Most Outstanding National R&D Project’
    Company Heavy Industries & Construction’s wind power research project was selected as the Most Outstanding National Research and Development Project for 2018 from among 60,000-plus state-funded candidates. The new mid-to large-scale, high-efficiency wind power system is optimally designed to generate electricity in low winds by being incorporated into the WinD3000/134, the company’s latest 3MW on and offshore wind turbine model. The largest rotor diameter is applied to a 3MW wind turbine to help deliver the maximum power efficiency compared to its peers and generate a high power output even at low wind speed. Against this backdrop, the technology is expected to greatly contribute to the advancement of the renewable energy technology.

    Company Robotics Advances to Chinese Collaborative Robotics Market
    Company Robotics signed a distribution agreement with Bozhong Group’s Linkhou, China’s largest industry automation solution specialist, in Suzhou, China, to supply its collaborative robots in China. By signing the agreement, Company Robotics has built 13 sales channels in eight countries, including Germany, China and France, in just one year after the launch of mass production. Meanwhile, Company Robotics continues to increase its market share by building channel partnerships in Korea.

    Company Corporation has secured a “logistics automation solutions” technology that controls and manages the entire process from product arrival in the logistics center to transfer, storage, and shipping, and it has established Company Logistics Solutions to run this business. Company Logistics Solutions combines its logistics automation solutions with Company Corporation's existing businesses, such as forklift trucks, collaborative robots, and fuel cells for drones, which are Company's core capabilities, to create synergy, and in the long term, expand them into system integration (SI) between different logistics systems.

    Company Heavy Industries & Construction (DHIC) has actively participated in the national project of developing the Korean model for the large-capacity gas turbine model since 2013 and succeeded in developing the world’s fifth—and Korea’s first—unique large gas turbine for power generation.

    Launch of “hydrogen fuel cell pack for drones”
    Company Mobility Innovation has launched a hydrogen fuel cell pack for drones, which allows them to fly for two hours, and begun full production. In addition, the company was awarded the “Best of Innovation” and “Honoree” awards in recognition of its hydrogen fuel cell drone and DP 30, a hydrogen fuel cell pack for drones, respectively, at the CES 2020 Innovation Awards.

    Company Infracore demonstrates an unmanned, automated construction site
    Company Infracore has unveiled and demonstrated its comprehensive control solution "Concept-X", wherein 3D scanning via drones surveys the work area, then the surveyed topographical data are automatically analyzed to establish work plans, and work is executed by unmanned excavators and wheel loaders. The demonstration was held at South Korea's largest construction equipment performance testing site in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province, which opened in October. Company Infracore plans to commercialize the comprehensive control solution for construction sites by 2025.

    To enter the agricultural machinery and landscaping equipment market in earnest
    Company Bobcat will acquire a zero-turn mower* business from U.S. landscaping company Schiller Grounds Care to accelerate the expansion of its agricultural and landscaping businesses with a recently launched compact tractor. In particular, the company plans to broaden its dealer network in the southern and western parts of the U.S. -- where demand for both products is high -- and bolster its existing product sales.
    * Zero-turn mower (ZTR mower): This equipment for landscaping work such as weeding is highly efficient as it applies a zero-turn method (zero-degree turn radius).

    Company Heavy Industries & Construction (DHI) has concluded a business collaboration agreement with U.S. nuclear power company NuScale Power that includes equity investment and the supply of some nuclear reactor modules and other equipment. With this small modular reactor agreement, DHI is expected to supply equipment worth at least $1.3 billion, considering future projects in the U.S. and the expanding global market.

    Company Fuel Cell built the world's first and largest byproduct hydrogen fuel cell power plant
    Company Fuel Cell completed the construction of the “Daesan Hydrogen Fuel Cell Power Plant,” which can supply 114 hydrogen fuel cells. The Daesan Hydrogen Fuel Cell Power Plant is the world's first and largest fuel cell power plant fueled by byproduct hydrogen. Company Fuel Cell aims to develop a new business model for the hydrogen industry by establishing a business partnership for the development of eco-friendly fuel cells for ships with Navig8, a global shipping company.

    Company Heavy Industries & Construction commenced the full-fledged export of its technology by shipping a small modular reactor worth KRW 1.5 trillion to the U.S.
    A small modular reactor (SMR) model produced by NuScale Power, a company in which Company Heavy Industries & Construction has invested, received the first of its kind design certification from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). This means that the safety and reliability of NuScale Power’s SMR model has been recognized in the global nuclear power plant market.     Construction of the Company Tower in Bundang
